Comprehensive Pre-Screening Interviews


Subjective Free Range Verbal Questions

Companies can include multiple Subjective questions in each interview. Candidates are expected to respond verbally to the questions and give detailed answers on video.

Subjective questions can be general personality evaluation questions used for screening purposes, e.g. “Which professional achievement are you most proud of and why?”, or “What do you do to manage stress levels at work?”. They can also be specific to the company or job that the candidate is interviewing for, e.g. “What are the most important qualities that a person needs to have to succeed in this role?”, or “Tell me what excites you about our company, and this job in particular.”

Subjective questions can be asked in any of 8 different languages/dialects – US English, UK English, Italian, German, Japanese, French, Portuguese, and Spanish. Candidates are expected to answer in the language of the question.


Personality Questionnaires

Three standardized Personality questionnaires are available in the app – Big 5, Short Dark Triad, and OEJTS. Recruiters can choose to administer any (or none) of these during the interview to generate a comprehensive personality profile of candidates.

  • Big 5 Personality Test: A personality test to evaluate candidates on the Big-5 personality markers – Openness, Conscientiousness, Extroversion, Agreeableness and Neuroticism.
  • Open Extended Jungian Type Personality Test: A test to classify candidates into 16 different types on the basis of four dichotomies: Introversion-Extroversion, Sensing-Intuition, Thinking-Feeling, and Judging-Perceiving.
  • Short Dark Triad Personality Test: A test to evaluate candidates on the three traits of Machiavellianism (a manipulative attitude), Narcissism (excessive self-love), and Psychopathy (lack of empathy).

Objective Skills Based Questions

Appliqant’s candidate screening process includes testing candidates on the hard skills required for success on the job. Recruiters can select skills from our database and select the number of questions to ask the candidate for each skill. Questions are chosen by the app at random during the interview from our database, so each candidate may get different questions during the interview.

Companies can add their own set of questions to the database for their interviews. Any questions added by a company are not shared with other companies.

The Appliqant content team is constantly curating our questions database. Our list of covered skills is growing by the day, and includes topics as varied as IT, Finance, Accounting, Legal, Customer Service, and Retail Sales. Companies using Appliqant can request our team to add new skills/questions.


IQ Test

A comprehensive IQ Test can be administered through the app. The IQ Test has 3 sections – Verbal, Numbers and Spatial.

  • Verbal Section – This section tests candidates’ understanding of language, and the usage/context of words and phrases.  This section can be made optional by the recruiter for non-native English language speakers.
  • Numbers Section – This section tests candidates’ comfort with numbers and mathematical concepts.
  • Spatial Section – This section tests candidates’ ability to identify spatial patterns, and their visualization skills.

There are two versions of the IQ Test – the Full version has 50 questions to be answered in 30 minutes for each section, the Short version has 25 questions to be answered in 15 minutes for each section.
